Terms of Service

Last updated: August 6, 2026

These terms govern your use of Maverank, operated by Volcanic Labs (Spain). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

1. What Maverank is

Maverank is an AI-visibility platform: it tracks how AI answer engines (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) mention and recommend brands, scores that visibility, and produces recommendations (the “AI Readiness” fix list) about what to change. Scores, reports and recommendations are informational — they describe how third-party AI systems responded to queries at a point in time.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract. Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the workspace members and client viewers you invite.

3. Subscriptions, trials and billing

  • Plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Annual billing includes two months free and is charged yearly upfront.
  • Trials last 7 days. Some sign-up paths ask for a payment card to start the trial; where a card is provided, the trial converts automatically to a paid subscription at the end of day 7 and your card is charged the plan price. The 7-day trial length is the same whether you choose a monthly or an annual plan — an annual plan still charges the full year at the end of day 7, not at the end of a longer period. You can cancel anytime before day 7 in Settings → Billing to avoid any charge.
  • Where no card is provided, the trial is free and no charge occurs; if it ends without a subscription, your projects become read-only and are deleted 90 days after the trial ends.
  • Refunds on the first charge (when a trial converts): if your card is charged at the end of the trial and you did not intend to continue, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the charge, provided the period has not been substantially used.
  • Refunds on renewals: annual renewal charges may be refunded within 14 days of the charge if the new period has not been substantially used; monthly renewal charges are non-refundable, since the plan is low-cost and the trial period already applied. Cancel anytime before a renewal in Settings → Billing to avoid the charge.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges. On downgrades, we show what exceeds the new plan's limits and let you adjust before confirming; we never silently delete data.
  • If a payment fails, we retry and notify you; after a grace period the workspace becomes read-only until payment succeeds.
  • Prices may change with prior notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle.

4. Fair use

Plan limits (projects, tracked prompts, refresh frequency, seats) are described on the pricing page. On-demand and daily refresh are subject to fair use: we may throttle usage patterns that indicate automation abuse rather than normal operation.

5. Legacy (v1) accounts

Maverank previously operated as an SEO-audit product ("Maverank v1"). v1 is discontinued; accounts created on it were migrated to the current service when Volcanic Labs acquired the product.

  • v1 lifetime licenses are honored permanently: the purchasing account receives the complimentary plan we assigned it (Solo or Studio, depending on the license purchased), free of charge, for as long as the service operates. The grant is tied to the account and is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
  • v1-specific features — audit credits, PDF page audits, the WordPress plugin — were features of the discontinued product and are not part of the current service.
  • v1 data (audit history, reports, credit balances) is retained in a read-only archive for 12 months from the migration date and then deleted. Migrated projects and tracked keywords are available in your account.

6. The free check

The free AI visibility check runs inside your account: you enter a domain, create an account, and we scan it. Don't use it to build datasets or resell results.

7. Acceptable use

  • Don't break the law, infringe others' rights, or misrepresent who you are.
  • Only track brands you have a legitimate professional interest in (your own, or a client's with their authorization).
  • Don't scrape the service, disrupt it, probe it for vulnerabilities, or resell raw platform access.
  • Don't attempt to manipulate AI engines through deceptive means and attribute the results to Maverank.

Violations may lead to suspension or termination.

8. Results are “as is”

AI engines are non-deterministic third-party systems: the same prompt can produce different answers over time and across users. Maverank measures and samples those answers; we do not control them and cannot guarantee that any brand will appear in, or improve its position in, AI-generated responses. The service and all data, scores and recommendations are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Don't rely on them as your sole basis for business decisions.

9. Your data and reports

Your workspace content (projects, prompts, notes) remains yours. Reports you generate — including white-label reports carrying your branding — may be shared with your clients. You grant us the license needed to operate, secure and support the service (store, process, transmit and display your content to you and the collaborators you invite). We may generate and use aggregated or de-identified service data that does not identify you, your users or your content, including to compute benchmarks and improve the product.

Where Maverank processes personal data on your behalf, you are the controller and Maverank is the processor, except where applicable law assigns a different role. The Data Processing Addendum forms part of these terms.

10. API keys

API keys are confidential and tied to your workspace. You're responsible for requests made with them. We log requests for security and rate-limiting and may throttle, suspend or revoke keys that endanger the service.

11. Third-party platforms and trademarks

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners. Maverank uses them nominatively — to identify the platforms it measures — and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those companies.

12. Our intellectual property

The service's software, design, text, graphics, the Maverank name and logo, and the scoring and readiness methodology are the property of Volcanic Labs. Feedback you send us may be used without restriction.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, goodwill or decisions made in reliance on visibility data. Maverank's total liability arising from or relating to the affected services is capped at the fees you paid Maverank for those services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Your indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Maverank, its affiliates and their personnel against third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or your use of the service in violation of law or a third party's rights. This applies only to the extent the claim is caused by those matters. We will promptly notify you of a claim, allow you to control the defence and settlement, and reasonably cooperate at your expense. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits Maverank's fault or imposes obligations on Maverank without our written consent.

15. Termination

You can cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time. For an ordinary material breach, either party may terminate these terms if the other party does not cure that breach within 30 days after written notice. We may suspend or terminate immediately for serious or non-curable breaches, unlawful activity, non-payment, a security risk, or conduct that threatens the service or other users. Data handling on termination follows the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Data Processing Addendum.

16. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failures caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including outages of third-party infrastructure or AI platforms.

17. Assignment, severability, waiver and entire agreement

You may not assign these terms without our written consent. We may assign these terms to an affiliate or in connection with a financing, merger, reorganisation, acquisition or sale of assets. If a provision is found invalid, it is modified minimally or severed and the rest continues. Not enforcing a provision doesn't waive it. These terms, the Privacy Policy, Data Processing Addendum and your subscription plan form the entire agreement.

18. Changes to these terms

We may modify these terms by posting an updated version. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Where applicable law requires separate or advance notice, we will provide it.

19. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by Spanish law, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
